The features of the Baltic Sea
The Baltic Sea is low innersea. In it's history there have been many lake and sea perioids. It has been only 1500 years like it is nowdays so it's a young sea. The short history limits the species which live near Baltic Sea. Species are also different according to weather circumstances at the water int the Baltic sea. Baltic Sea is a mixture of ocean and river water and brackish water. It's content of salt is low comparing to other oceans. There are sea and innersea species in the Baltic Sea. There are no currents in the Baltic Sea. The height of surface is still changing because of winds and air pressure differences. It's at it's highest in late fall and it's at its lowest in spring. This helps the Baltic Sea to freeze in Winter. The hardness and form of the bedrock and the effects from iceperiod have changed the coastline and its islands. Islands are important places to live for sea birds. Finland and Sweden have the most of islands.
